Unified Network: Electric, Water & Gas

Together, Tantalus and Badger deliver a single, consolidated communications system for electric, water and gas utilities.

A common network for all commodities helps utilities contain costs and mitigate risk. Utilities share the infrastructure, but can deploy the network and applications to as few or as many consumers as they desire, and in whatever order best fits the business plan.

TUNet endpoint transceivers connect with Badger’s ORION® water and gas metering products, allowing them to communicate over TUNet to a host server. Daily consumption and operational data is channeled directly to appropriate functions within each respective utility for integration into Badger CONNECT, which includes billing, customer service, operations and other relevant applications.

The water and gas utility gains automatic meter reading for
billing purposes as well as all the benefits of interval data
transmissions. This data in turn can produce the following reports:
