Manufacturing QA Engineer

You will be monitoring product quality and process quality in an Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) factory located in SE China. You will be working with the EMS to ensure day-to-day activities are maintained to meet shipping and quality targets, and will provide front line support for communicating issues back to Tantalus staff in North America. Additional activities will be to interface between Tantalus North America and various groups within the EMS for both daily activities, and for project driven activities. You will be monitoring vendor quality at various Tantalus approved vendors located in SE Asia, and assist with communications between these vendors and Tantalus North America. Additional activities will involve assistance with production scheduling and maintaining delivery targets, as well as assisting with new product introduction activities. Vendor relationships and auditing will also be required from time to time. Travel to Tantalus headquarters (Vancouver, BC, Canada) will be required on a yearly basis. Other travel within South East Asia may be required.
Successful candidates will have a strong background in quality systems skills and project management skills, and experience with manufacturing operations practices.
Roles & Responsibilities: |

Monitor day-to-day quality activities at Tantalus' EMS partners |
2. |
Perform regular audits on process instructions and compliance to these instructions for all products being manufactured at Tantalus' EMS partners. |
3. |
Provide front line support for Tantalus personnel to resolve issues remotely. |
4. |
Assist with communications between Tantalus and local SE Asia vendors. |
5. |
Monitor vendor quality, and assist with communication and resolution of quality issues. |
6. |
Provide support for New Product Introduction activities, including local project management to maintain target dates. |
7. |
Maintain a good relationship with Tantalus' EMS partners. |
| Education & Professional Credentials Desired: |
1. |
| Undergraduate degree from a recognized university |
|
| Experience Required: |
1. |
| Minimum 5 years work experience (not counting coop experience) in manufacturing quality roles for manufacturing organizations. |

2. |
Experience with SE Asia business practices in electronics manufacturing. |
3. |
Experience with production forecasting methods and analysis. |
4. |
Experience with Microsoft Office applications, especially Microsoft Excel. |

Experience with electronic component supply chain procurement. |

Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. |

| Travel: |

| Travel to Tantalus Headquarters will be expected once per year for training. |
