Field Project Manager

Location: Raleigh, North Carolina

The recent award of $3.4 billion in Smart Grid Investment Grants by the US Department of Energy has spurred utilities to invest in leading smart grid technologies such as the Tantalus Utility Network (TUNet®). Tantalus has several new and existing customers who benefited from the SGIG program and are now placing orders to start or accelerate their projects. To help with this rapid growth, Tantalus is seeking another Field Project Manager to lead the delivery of new contracts to utilities implementing the Smart Grid.

Role: The Project Manager is a member of the Field Operations team responsible for delivering and implementing customer contracts. You will provide day-to-day oversight of deployments of the Tantalus Utility Network (TUNet®) at our customers’ sites, and will be a primary customer interface intent on ensuring that Tantalus meets or exceeds expectations. You will plan, execute, monitor and control projects from initiation through delivery and commissioning. You will provide leadership to multiple parties, both within and outside the Company, to define requirements, establish the system design, coordinate deliveries and report to our customers. You will also oversee systems integration. You will negotiate and implement subcontracts when required. You will review and report project performance regularly to management and other stakeholders. You may be required to travel as much as two to three weeks per month. You may also be called upon to undertake duties outside those of your principle role as stated above.

Education & Professional Credentials Required:
1.	Degree in electrical, electronic or computer engineering

Experience Required:
1.	Minimum 7 years work experience managing large operational projects
2.	Minimum 7 years customer management work experience
3.	Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including MS-Project

Experience Desired:
1.	Work experience implementing and integrating large information systems
2.	Work experience with electricity utilities
3.	Work experience implementing or operating large telemetry and/or control systems
4.	Experience deploying large radio networks
