TANTALUS BOARD NAMES ERIC MURRAY PRESIDENT & CEO
Dominic Geraghty to Chair Tantalus Board of Directors

Vancouver, BC Canada – July 30, 2009 – Tantalus Systems Corp. announced today that Eric Murray has been selected by the Board of Directors as the company’s new President and Chief Executive Officer, effective August 1, 2009. He succeeds Dr. Dominic Geraghty, who after two and a half years of leading Tantalus was elected Executive Chairman of the Board.

“Eric takes over at an important time in Tantalus growth,” said Geraghty. “His diligence and vision as President and, prior to that, as leader of our sales efforts were instrumental in achieving many milestones, and set a corporate standard for excellence, accountability and delivering innovation at the forefront of customer needs.”

“Now, with the huge emphasis on energy efficiency, Eric can accelerate our growth plan,” he added. “His broad knowledge of the technology and marketing sides of the business will be invaluable. Murray has been an integral part of the Tantalus executive team since joining the company in 2003. He has more than 20 years experience in the power industry, including senior executive positions responsible for sales and strategic initiatives in the utility and communications sectors. Murray is a professional engineer and holds an MBA.

“Dom’s wealth of experience with high growth, high technology companies guided us through a crucial stage in Tantalus’ financial and business development,” said outgoing chair John McEwen. “His efforts have paid off in innumerable ways and positioned us solidly as a leader in the Smart Grid sector.”

McEwen, President of Discovery Capital and an early investor in Tantalus, will be Vice-Chairman of the Board, continuing to provide counsel on business strategy.
